Chicago Avenue Moon is a generative music app designed to create a unique musical experience based on variables like date, time, moon phase, and GPS location. Composer Joshua Dumas crafted 1000 musical phrases, which the app manipulates to generate trillions of variations, ensuring each listen is distinct. The app aims to provide a personalized soundtrack for daily routines, such as commutes or evening jogs, incorporating field recordings from Ukrainian Village in Chicago.
Developed in collaboration with Junecloud, the app offers a universal experience across iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad devices. While a GPS-enabled device is recommended for optimal use, it is not mandatory, making it accessible to a broader audience.
